  • Alabama Plan First - Vasectomy Services and Care Coordination (modified: 2 years ago)
    Alabama requests an amendment to its Family Planning Medicaid demonstration to provide vasectomy services and care coordination to males, aged 21 and older. Males enrolled in the demonstration will receive assistance establishing Medicaid, managing the care coordination system, locating the appropriate doctor to perform the procedure, and making and keeping appointments for initial consultations and follow-up visits. Alabama's goal for adding these services is to ensure that all barriers are removed to prevent unintended pregnancies. The federal public comment period will be open from November 30, 2016 through December 30, 2016.
  • Alabama Plan First 2017 Extension (modified: 2 years ago)
    Alabama requests a five year extension of its Family Planning Medicaid Demonstration with no program changes. The Plan First demonstration operates statewide and extends Medicaid eligibility for family planning services to eligible women between the ages of 19-55 whose income is at or below 141 percent of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) and also extends Medicaid eligibility for vasectomy services to men age 21 years or older with incomes up to 141% of the FPL. The federal public comment period will be open from June 21, 2017 through July 21, 2017.

    Alabama submitted an application for a three-year extension of the Alabama Plan First family planning section 1115 demonstration. The demonstration expands the provision of family planning and family planning-related services to women, ages 19 through 55, who have family income at or below 141 percent of the Federal poverty level (FPL) and vasectomies for men, ages 21 and older, who have family income at or below 141 percent of the FPL. The federal public comment period will be open from October 29, 2014 through November 28, 2014.
