    The state of California has submitted an amendment to the CBAS demonstration to provide full scope Medi-Cal to pregnant women 109 - 138% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). The federal public comment period will run from September 15, 2014 through October 15, 2014.

    California has proposed an amendment to its section 1115 Medicaid demonstration, Bridge to Reform, to extend its authorization for the Community-Based Adult Services (CBAS) benefit beyond its current sunset date of August 31, 2014. CBAS is an outpatient, facility-based program that delivers skilled nursing care, social services, therapies, personal care, family/caregiver training and support, nutrition services, and transportation to qualifying aged, blind, or disabled Medicaid state plan beneficiaries. CBAS is offered primarily through CBAS Centers, although "unbundled" CBAS services can be offered outside of centers in certain circumstances. The state proposes to extend CBAS primarily as a managed care benefit, but does not propose to extend the Enhanced Case Management or Unbundled Services options.

    California has submitted an application to renew its section 1115 demonstration effective November 1, 2015. The state requests a five-year extension. California seeks to continue many of its existing demonstration initiatives and seeks to expand access, improve health quality, equity, and outcomes, and control health care costs for Medi-Cal beneficiaries. The federal public comment period will be open from April 10, 2015 through May 10, 2015.

    The state of California has requested to amend its "Bridge to Reform" demonstration to implement improvements to its Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System (DMC-ODS). The DMC-ODS provides a continuum of care modeled after the American Society of Addiction Medicine's criteria for substance use disorder treatment services. This amendment proposes changes aimed at improving service delivery, allowing more local control and accountability in selection of high quality providers, and improved local coordination of case management services. The Federal public comment period will be open from December 31, 2014 to January 30, 2015.
