  • West Virginia Creating a Continuum of Care for Medicaid Enrollees with Substance Use Disorders - Amendment
    West Virginia is submitting a request to amend Creating a Continuum of Care for Medicaid Enrollees with Substance Use Disorders section 1115(a) demonstration. The goal of the amendment is to give the authority to allow the Children with Serious Emotional Disorder 1915(c) demonstration to be limited to a single specialized MCO. The federal public comment period will be open from August 7, 2019 through September 6, 2019.
  • West Virginia Creating a Continuum of Care for Medicaid Enrollees with Substance Use Disorder
    On December 1, 2016, the West Virginia Bureau for Medicaid Services (BMS) submitted a section 1115 demonstration application to address the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) crisis negatively impacting the state. West Virginia has the highest rate of drug overdose deaths in the United States. There are several initiatives underway to combat the SUD crisis and the West Virginia section 1115 demonstration application: Creating a Continuum of Care for Medicaid Enrollees with Substance Use Disorders is a critical component of state's effect to provide comprehensive SUD services and supports. The federal comment period will be open from December 6, 2016 through January 5, 2017.
