South Dakota's Former Foster Care Youth 1115 Waiver

South Dakota requests a new five-year section 1115 demonstration to provide Medicaid coverage to former foster care youth under age 26 who were in foster care under the responsibility of another state when they turned 18 and were enrolled in Medicaid at that time or at some point while in such foster care. The state's goal is to continue coverage for former foster care youth that will no longer be eligible for coverage under the Medicaid state plan. The federal comment period will be open from January 17, 2018 through February 16, 2018.
