Arkansas Health Care Independence Program

Arkansas is proposing an amendment to the Health Care Independence demonstration that will test an innovative approach to cost-sharing for newly eligible adult beneficiaries in the demonstration. Demonstration participants with income between 50 and 133 percent of the Federal Poverty Level will contribute into an Independence Account to cover copayments and coinsurance. Participants may choose to provide monthly contributions or choose not to participate and be subject to cost sharing. Arkansas is also proposing to establish service limits for non-emergency medical transportation. The federal public comment period will be open from September 17, 2014 through October 17, 2014.
